Robert E. Trop




Robert E. Trop is an experienced litigator and trial attorney. He has handled over 1,000 cases since he started practicing in 1990. He has tried all kinds of cases before juries in the State and Federal Courts, from the common automobile accident and trip/slip and fall case to complex medical malpractice or defective product cases to Federal Civil Rights cases. He has recovered tens of millions of dollars for his clients since 1990. He also has handled appeals in New York State appeals courts.

Mr. Trop is licensed to practice in the State of New York and Connecticut. He is also admitted to the bars of the U.S. Federal Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. In Washington, D.C., he is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States Court of Military Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, and the United States Supreme Court.

He graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a B.A. in 1987, and Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1990. In law school he was the Associate Editor of the Touro Law Review from 1989-1990, and author of the addendum to “The Pattern Element of RICO Liability”, 6:2 Touro Law Review 281 (1990).

In addition to being a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and American Trial Lawyers Association, he is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which limits membership only to those attorneys who have obtained million dollar awards for clients.

Robert Trop oversees all of the firm’s aviation matters. In addition to being an attorney, Mr. Trop is a licensed and active F.A.A. instrument-rated pilot. With this background, he is well suited to specialize in representing victims/families in aviation litigation. He also represents pilots before the N.T.S.B. when they are charged with violations by the F.A.A.
